Anna Gill

Vibrant and dedicated, Anna Gill has burst onto the scene of contemporary fiction with a flourish.  After many years of writing privately, and successfully managing a large family, Gill has published two novels, her most recent being "The Tale of Dickie Short". Gill is currently finishing up "A Chance Worth Taking", a sequel to her first book, "The Eastwood Affair".

While writing novels is her passion, Gill also enjoys freelance writing, and her most recent piece, Viva la Penman a la Revolucion, was published in the notable Maryland magazine, "What's Up, Eastern Shore"?  Urging her readers to explore further, Gill travels, to locate interesting places and characters, and then proceeds to weave a tapestry, enticing further discovery.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Gill's Irish and French descent make for an interesting combination.  She likes to tell people that while she may have left the New York Metro area, it has never left her, and she is still putting the W's in all of her words, and remembers what a jug handle and "going to the shore" truly mean.  Gill's world of writing began as a child, within her  youthful scribbles and young imaginings.  But time waits for no one, and deciding her time is now, she has begun writing in earnest.

Gill's genre, "issue fiction", centers on her extraordinary ability to choose an important "issue of the day", and weave a blend of fact and fiction around it, ultimately presenting, not only the complexity of all sides of an issue, but also the challenges and realities of the chosen controversy.

Gill admits that her characters live with her, until they have told her their story, and they can stop her in her tracks, until she portrays them in the light they insist upon.  Her combined approach of respect and empathy for her characters is illuminated in the masterful way in which they are presented to the reader.

Today, Gill divides her time living in Upstate New York and Bethany Beach, Delaware. The loves of her life are her husband, grown children and the most adorable "grands" in the world.
